LCEA signed upto Earth Hour:

It’s time to go beyond the hour…

LCEA joined millions of people to raise the issue of climate change by turning our lights off on Saturday for Earth Hour.

The big black out was organised by the charity WWF and started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour. A year later more than 50 million people across 35 countries/territories participated and last year a record 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas have joined in the great switch off.

Visit the Earth Hour website to find out more.

The lights switched off around the globe for Earth Hour at 8.30 PM on Saturday 26 March 2011.
